RELEX Analyzer

When dealing with high numbers of products, as is the case in wholesale, retail, or when managing spare parts, it is often hard to discriminate between more important and less important items. Yet, it would be of great value to inventory management, cost management, and assortment management to be able to quickly identify products that require special attention, i.e. products providing the best profit and products having a negative impact on the bottom line, products that need adjustments in the way they are controlled, and products that are object to changes, such as upcoming promotions or nearing the end of their lifecycles.

RELEX Analyzer is a flexible tool for analyzing and monitoring performance from several different points of view, such as inventory management, cost and profit management, and assortment management. RELEX Analyzer helps to identify products that are important or require special attention. Due to its support for activity based costing, RELEX Analyzer enables analysis of products’, stores’, product groups’ or, for example, suppliers’ contribution to margin and profit.

Using the RELEX Analyzer module

Product data and data on transactions are transmitted from the customer’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to RELEX Analyzer. Based on this information, reports on sales, inventory efficiency (e.g. service levels, inventory turns, days of supply), costs (e.g. inventory cost, handling costs), and profitability (e.g. margin, profit) are compiled.

RELEX Analyzer is a web-based, flexible system, based on cube logic. The user is able to edit the content and time dimensions of the reports and to save report forms for further use. Reports can be compiled based on different criteria, including metrics, such as product profit. RELEX Analyzer is a high performance reporting tool. It is, for example, able to identify among hundreds of thousands of products the items meeting user-defined, metric-based search criteria, and to report the results within seconds.
